How to run the Text Annotation Tool
BOEMIE Textual Corpora Annotation Tool runs when you open the executable file BOEMIE-AnnTool-1.4.5.exe. No installation is needed; just copy the executable file in your desired folder and run it!
Overview
This tool has been designed to perform the process of annotation on html documents for the BOEMIE project. The annotation guidelines, analyzed in a separate document named “Information Extraction from text: Annotation Guidelines” are an indispensable part of the required knowledge in order to understand the whole mechanism of annotation. It is strongly recommended that you read the guidelines before this document so as to know how to use this tool.
In short, the process of annotation consists of three basic steps:
a. Creating or transferring the collection
Annotation is performed only on documents that belong to a collection. So, if you have separate documents for annotation, add them in a new collection. If the collection is given (as a corpus for annotation) you only have to transfer it to your computer.
