Abstract: 

This deliverable presents the second version of the multimedia ontologies developed within the BOEMIE project. The Multimedia Content Ontology (MCO) and the Multimedia Descriptor Ontology (MDO that were, developed during the first year of the project, have been revised, and appropriate modifications/enrichments have been carried out to meet the new requirements posed by analysis advancement. The deliverable starts with a brief overview on the relevant literature, and the role and context of usage of multimedia ontologies in the project. A brief outlook on the ontologies’ first version follows. In the sequel, the emerged additional requirements are described, and the second version of the ontologies is detailed. The deliverable concludes with future directions and issues to further investigation.
