On April 22, a large Greek newspaper, “Ethnos” hosted a press conference by the BOEMIE Project Manager, Dr. Constantine D. Spyropoulos. In this press conference, Dr. Constantine D. Spyropoulos presented the BOEMIE project, its aims and potential impact, and the work that has already been accomplished.

 This deliverable presents the state-of-the-art on “Semantics Extraction from visual content”. We first give an overview of OCR methodologies dealing with visual content, namely image and video, that provide textual information.
